Sarimah Akbar (* 1966/67) is a diplomat from Malaysia .

Career

Akbar began her career as a civil servant in the Administration and Diplomatic Service at the Malaysian Foreign Ministry in 1996. She worked in the Finance Department until 1997 and in the East Asia Department until 1999. From 1999 to 2003 he was assistant secretary Akbar in the Malaysian Embassy in Tokyo ( Japan ) and 2003-2004 assistant secretary in the Department of Southeast Asia in the Foreign Ministry. From 2009 to 2012 she was a consultant at the Malaysian High Commission in London .

Since 2017 she was Undersecretary in the department " Cambodia , Laos Myanmar and Vietnam (CLMV) and Oceania ". On July 5, 2018, at the age of 51, Akbar was appointed Malaysia's Ambassador to East Timor .
