The sarcophagus is a stone sarcophagus set up in the old town of Åhus , Sweden .

It is located a little east of the ruins of the St. Anna Chapel .

The sarcophagus weighs around seven to eight tons. He was on board a ship that sank in the 17th century. In the middle of the 20th century, the shipwreck was found three meters below the surface in the Baltic Sea south of Revhaken south of Åhus. It was loaded with sarcophagi from Gotland . The sarcophagus in Åhus today was the heaviest of the load and was recovered in 1958. The shipwreck was not lifted and comes to the surface when the water levels are low.

The sarcophagus was cleaned in the cleaning department of the Åhus distillery and placed in the area of ​​St. Anne's Chapel.
