The St. Anne's Chapel is preserved in ruins chapel in the Swedish city of Åhus .

The brick chapel belonged to the St. Anna Hospital , which was founded in 1525 . The first head of the hospital was the Dane Claus Denne , Åhus was part of Denmark at the time . The hospital also had a hospital, an old people's home and a hostel. It was organized as a charity committed to gratuitous foundation . The architectural origin of the chapel is, however, much older. Archaeological research carried out in 1948 dated the foundation walls of the chapel to the 13th century. The chapel was probably created from the renovation of a previously existing House of the Holy Cross . The chapel had a nave and a choir.

In the 16th century the chapel was damaged several times by shelling and fires. In 1569 the hospital and the chapel burned down, but was rebuilt. The last mention of the hospital comes from 1625. When Åhus lost its town charter, the hospital moved to Kristianstad .

There is a historic altar plate near the chapel's east entrance . It was found during road works in the area of Åhus monastery and may have originally belonged to the monastery church of Sankt Nicolai. A little east of the chapel is a sarcophagus that was only recovered in 1958 in the Baltic Sea . To the west is the historic Kungsstugan .

In the summer months, summer services are held in the chapel in the open air.
