particularities northernmost mountain on Islay

Sgarbh Breac is the northernmost mountain on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . The 364 m high elevation is located in the northeast of the island about three kilometers southwest of Cape Ruvaal and eight kilometers north-northwest of the ferry port Port Askaig . About 1.5 km southwest of the summit is the 250 m wide Loch Mhurchaidh . The Sgarbh Dubh is located about four kilometers to the southwest .

Sgarbh Breac is located in a practically unpopulated part of the island, which is why there are no roads leading to the mountain. However, there are hiking routes to the mountain, for example starting from the nearby Bunnahabhain whiskey distillery . From the highest point the Paps of Jura on the neighboring island of Jura and the islands of Colonsay and Oronsay can be seen.
