Sgarbh Dubh

Sgarbh Dhub is a mountain on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . The 294 m high elevation is located in a sparsely populated region in the northeast of the island. The nearest town is Keills, eight kilometers to the southeast . A prominent fold extends over the Sgarbh Dubh , which extends from the south from the neighboring Beinn Bhreac . Sgarbh Dubh is not connected to the island's road network. The closest trail is a dirt track that runs from Craigens Farm along the east bank of Loch Gruinart, connecting various now abandoned settlements.

Surroundings

The Sgarbh Dubh runs out in the north and northwest to the Atlantic coast 1.5 km away . Along the coast there are numerous artificial and natural caves in which objects have been found that indicate an earlier settlement of the region. The remains of three Shieling huts are located on the northeast running Allt Aonan stream on Eorna.
