Jane Ngotho

Jane Ngotho ( Jane Ngotho Wanjiku ; born November 29, 1969 in Nyeri ) is a former Kenyan long-distance runner .

Life

In 1988 she was junior world champion over 10,000 m . The following year she was fourth at the World Cross Country Championships in Stavanger . At the 1989 African Athletics Championships in Lagos, she won gold over 10,000 m and silver over 3000 m . In 1990 she was sixth at the Cross Country World Championships in Aix-les-Bains and won silver over 10,000 m at the African Championships in Cairo .

In 1991 she was fifth in the individual ranking at the Cross Country World Championships in Antwerp and won gold with the Kenyan team. At the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo , she came in 21st place over 10,000 m. After she had contributed to the victory of the Kenyan team with a twelfth place at the World Cross Country Championship in Boston in 1992 , she won the Giro Media Blenio . At the Olympic Games in Barcelona she was eliminated over 3000 m in the preliminary run.

She won two more times with the team at the Cross Country World Championships: 1993 in Amorebieta-Etxano with 17th place and 1996 in Stellenbosch with eighth place.

In 1999 she was sixth at the World Cross Country Championship in Belfast on the long distance and won silver with the team. Later in the season she won the Crescent City Classic 10K and came third in the Beach to Beacon 10K . In 2000 she finished second at the Crescent City Classic 10K, in 2001 she won at Bay to Breakers , and in 2004 she finished fifth at the Berlin Half Marathon .
