Gladys Cherono Kiprono (born May 12, 1983 ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

Career

In 2005 she won the Santa Pola half marathon and the Gavà half marathon. In 2007, she won in the 10km from A Coruña and the half-marathon competition of Reims à toutes jambes . The following year she was third in the Porto half marathon , won the Reims à toutes jambes half marathon and came second in the Trofeo José Cano. In 2009 a second place followed in Porto and victories at the Valladolid Half-Marathon, the 10 km from A Coruña and the Trofeo José Cano.

At the end of 2011 she reported back with a win at the Zhuhai Half Marathon in competition. In 2012 she was third in the RAK half marathon and third in the Prague half marathon . At the African Athletics Championships in Porto Novo , she managed a double victory over 5000 and 10,000 meters . Then she won the Bogotá half marathon . and the Tilburg 10 K .

In 2013 she set a course record in the Prague Half Marathon and won the World 10K Bangalore . As the winner of the Kenyan elimination bouts over 10,000 meters, she drove to the World Athletics Championships in Moscow , where she won the silver medal.

At the end of March 2014 she became the half marathon world champion in Copenhagen . It took 1:07:29 h for the route.

On September 27, 2015 she won the Berlin Marathon in 2:19:25 h. In 2017 she was successful again in Berlin (2:20:23 h). On September 16, 2018, after 2:18:11 h, she won the Berlin Marathon for the third time with a personal best and a new course record.
