Beach to Beacon 10K
Beach to Beacon 10K is a 10 km road race that has been held in Cape Elizabeth ( Maine ) since 1998 .
The by Joan Benoit Samuelson , launched race runs from Crescent Beach State Park (the beach - "beach") to Portland Head Light (the lighthouse - "beacon") and is one of the fastest and most popular over this distance in the United States . The 6000 available starting places were allocated within two hours in 2009.
