history

Archaeological finds prove that the municipality was settled during the Bronze Age . The first written mention of the place took place in 1373 in connection with a Sezema de Dirslawicz, which probably came from the West Bohemian family of Drslavice. In the area there was another village of the same name, which was designated as the property of Artleb von Lipina with villa Drslawicz minoris ( Drslavičky ) in 1417 and later went out. To distinguish it, today's Drslavice was called Super villa Drslawicz in 1437 . Jan von Cimburg , who had bought Drslawicz before 1463, added the estate to his lordship Brod . In 1509 Jan von Kunovice acquired the rule. Viticulture in Drslavice has been documented since the 16th century. In 1611, Jetřich von Kunovice sold Uherský Brod with all accessories to Ulrich von Kaunitz . In the years 1605, 1663, 1683 and 1704–1705, the village suffered from the incursions of Transylvanian rebels and Turkish war people. In the heaviest of these, 31 residents were murdered in 1663 and 37 horses, 31 cattle and 245 sheep were driven away. In the hoof register of 1676 31 properties are shown for the village, two of which were in desolation. Over time the village was referred to as Drslawicze , Drslawitz and Drslawice . The other owners included Dominik Andreas I von Kaunitz from 1676 to 1705 , Count Wenzel Anton Kaunitz from 1746 to 1794 and Alois Wenzel von Kaunitz from 1812 to 1848. In the second half of the 18th century the village had just under 350 inhabitants. After the Josephinian patent of tolerance, Drslavice formed a brotherhood. In 1831 cholera broke out. In 1843 390 people lived in the 75 houses in Drslavice. The Catholic parish has always been Hradčovice. Until the middle of the 19th century, Drslavice was always subject to Uherský Brod.

After the abolition of patrimonial Drslavice / Drslawitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . During the German War in 1866, Prussian troops brought in cholera again. In 1883 a school was built in Drslavice. The Wlarabahn was built in 1888 . Plans to build a train station in Drslavice and to build a railway failed with the outbreak of the First World War. In 1900 there were vineyards on an area of 12 hectares in the corridors of Drslavice. Wenceslaus Robert von Kaunitz then had the overgrown vineyards on the Myšince converted into a zoo and between 1903 and 1905 the Pepčín Castle on the top of the mountain in the southern cadastre of the municipality build. Viticulture was completely given up after the First World War. In 1914 the communal water mill was converted into a steam mill. A little later, František Otto bought the mill and converted it to the most modern facility in the wide area with an electric drive. After the mill was nationalized, the mill was stopped in 1958. In the 1930s Tomáš Baťa intended to set up a hosiery factory in Drslavice and negotiated with the Counts of Kaunitz to buy the Pepčín Castle and Obora zoo. After his death, his son Tomáš John Baťa stopped pursuing these plans from 1932. After the dissolution of the Okres Uherský Brod, the municipality was assigned to the Okres Uherské Hradiště in 1960.
