The village was founded around 1255 during the colonization of the area under Boresch II von Riesenburg by German settlers. The center of the Provincia Lucensis at that time formed the fortress Vlčnov , to which the villages Dolní Němčí, Horní Němčí , Suché Němčí , Slavkov , Boršice and Velká were subordinate. The expansion of the goods by Boresch met resistance from the expanding city of Brod . After Boresch fell out of favor with Ottokar II Přemysl in 1277 and was executed, his South Moravian possessions fell back to the sovereign. Ottokar II. Přemysl leased these goods to the royal city of Brod in 1278. Later the former possessions of Boresch were divided up and sold. The originally German-speaking population was assimilated. In documents Nyemczie detectable since 1358th After numerous changes of ownership, Jan von Kunowitz acquired Nyemczie in 1531 and struck the estate of his rule Ostroh mit Brod. The place name Dolní Niemczy has been handed down from 1592 . In 1611 the Lords of Kaunitz acquired the Brod rule. The following owners included u. a. Dominik Andreas I. von Kaunitz . 1663 engaged the kuruc prior to Brod, thereby Dolni Němčí was sacked and partially destroyed. At the end of the 17th century the village consisted of three streets. In 1848 the place was called Unter Niemtchi . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village was always subject to Uherský Brod .

After the abolition of patrimonial formed Dolní Niemczy 1850 a municipality in the district administration Hradisch . During the German War , the Prussians invaded Dolněmčí in 1866. They brought in cholera , from which 59 residents died in the same year. Since 1872 the place was called Dolněmčí / Dolniemtsch . In 1925 the Czech place name was changed to Dolní Němčí . During the German occupation, the German name Unter Niemtsch arose from this . In 1949 the community was assigned to the new Okres Uherský Brod. After the cancellation of the Okres Uherský Brod, Dolní Němčí came back to the Okres Uherské Hradiště in late 1960 . The community has had a coat of arms and a banner since 2003.
