In the Hrádek corridor was the grave of a Frankish warrior from the time of the Great Moravia fighting for independence from Eastern France .

The first written mention of Zneispole was in 1220 with eleven other villages as the property of the Velehrad monastery . In 1228 the place was known as Knesepole , in 1265 as Knespol and in 1372 as Gnespul . In 1467, the Gnespul monastery used as security for a loan taken out from the town of Hradiště . In 1470, in a battle east of the village between Bílovice and Mistřice, a Bohemian army led by Heinrich von Podiebrad defeated the Bohemian troops commanded by Matthias Corvinus . In 1522 the village was called Kniezpole . After the Cistercians were unable to repay the loan, they had to sell the village to the town of Hradiště in 1528. In 1663 the village was sacked and burned down during the Turkish invasion. The place name Kniežpole is passed down from 1670 from 1751 Kniespol . The oldest local seal dates from 1709. In 1834 the community had about 400 inhabitants. In 1846 the place was called Knězopole . Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained part of the property of the city of Hradisch .

From 1850 Knězopole / Kniespol formed a municipality in the district administration of Hradisch. In 1872 the village was called Kněžpole . In 1886 a large fire destroyed eleven farmsteads. In 1907 a dairy was built one kilometer outside the village, and in 1956 it ceased operations. During the floods of 1910, the Březnice broke through the dikes and flooded the village. As a result, the stream was then regulated. In 1918 the place name was Kněžpol and since 1925 the official name has been Kněžpole . During the German occupation , some of the residents took part in the resistance. As a result of treason, 18 residents were arrested in 1940. In 1959 a windpipe pulled over the village from the west; eight barns were destroyed, numerous roofs damaged and trees uprooted. During earthworks for the construction of the waterworks, the pelvic bone of a mammoth was found in 1967. In 1975 a fragment of a mammoth shoulder blade was excavated in the Canada gravel pit.
