Včelary (German Wceral , 1939-1945 Zeidelweid ) is a district of the municipality Bílovice in the Czech Republic . It is located seven kilometers northeast of Uherské Hradiště and belongs to the Okres Uherské Hradiště .

Včelary is located at the northwestern foot of the Prakšická vrchovina in the Dolnomoravský úval (Southern March Basin). The village lies on a bend in the Březnice river on the edge of the Prakšická vrchovina nature park. To the northeast rises the Štěrky (233 m), in the southeast the Vrchovina (331 m), Rovná hora (350 m) and the Lovisko (349 m) and in the south the Rovnina (336 m).

Neighboring towns are Topolná in the north, Březolupy in the northeast, Bílovice in the east, Prakšice , Lhotka and Hradčovice in the southeast, Mistřice in the south, Jarošov in the southwest, Kněžpole in the west and Cerony, Babice and Spytihněv in the northwest.

history

Archaeological finds of stone tools prove an early settlement of the area by mammoth hunters up to the Paleolithic . A mammoth tusk was also found in the Kuchyňky corridor .

The present village was founded during the great colonization of the area in the 14th century. The first written mention was made in 1385 as part of the Veselí rule . In 1406 the place was called Wczelarzie . In 1482 the town of Hradiště bought the village. During the Thirty Years War, Včelary was burned down by the Swedes in 1643. In the hoof register of 1656 only nine properties are listed as managed. In 1670 the place was called Wcžeraly . A water mill had existed since the 17th century. In 1834 there were 79 adults and twelve children in the village. All residents belonged to the Czech ethnic group. In 1846 the village was called Wčeláry . The town of Hradisch owned the fishing rights in the Březnice. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always remained part of the property of the city of Hradisch .

From 1850 Wčerály / Wceral formed a municipality in the district administration Hradisch . The school in Wčerály was inaugurated in 1863. In 1872 the municipality was called Včeraly . The current place name Včelary has been in use since 1881. In 1900, the municipality cadastre included fields, gardens, meadows and pastures as well as a one-hectare vineyard. During the German occupation , the community was given the name Zeidelweid . At the end of 1960 Včelary was incorporated into Bílovice. In 1991 there were 349 people living in the village. At the 2001 census, 344 people lived in 99 houses in Včelary.
