history

The first written mention of the village of Praxici , which belongs to the Spytihněv provost, was made in 1131 in a list of goods belonging to the Diocese of Olomouc . After the invasions of the Golden Horde of 1241 and in the pay of the Hungarian King Bela IV. Standing Cumanian Horde in 1253 the area was depopulated. In 1256, Bishop Bruno von Schauenburg handed over the deserted Slavičín district, with the exception of Bílovice and Biskupice, to the knight Helembert von Thurn at his request as a fief and granted him an eight-year period for the repopulation of the abandoned villages. In 1389 the village was named Prakschicz , 1446 Prasicz and 1481 Prakssycze . At the beginning of the 15th century, the Vladiken von Malenovice owned the Prakschicz fief . Between 1417 and 1441 Markvart von Malenovice used the predicate from Prakschicz and in 1442 Wenceslaus von Malenovice. After the Bohemian-Hungarian War, a festival was established in Prakschicz . In 1515, Hynek von Zástřizl acquired the Prakschicz fiefdom . He joined his other goods Pašovice , Dobrkovice and Hřivínův Újezd with it and made Prakschicz the seat of the new branch of the Zástřizl von Prakšice family ( Prakšičtí ze Zástřizl ). In 1520 Jiří Prakšický from Zástřizl inherited the property. In 1538 he sold all the goods to his sister Kunigunde von Korotín. In the same year, Jiří's sons Oneš and Adam bought the Ořechov and Pašovice estates . In 1572 Adam Prakšický von Zástřizl transferred the rule of Ořechov with all accessories to his nephew Proček. With Proček Prakšický von Zástřizl, who died penniless in 1597, the line of the Zástřizl von Prakšice became extinct in the male line. Until 1603 members of the Zástřizl von Prakšice still sat at the fortress, followed by Johann Biberstein von Bogisow. In 1620 there were 81 bushels of vineyards, in the hoof register of 1671 only 21 are shown. The other owners included Johann Friedrich Sak von Bohunowic around 1641, Paul von Holler until 1660, then Johann Max von Schönkirch, who immediately sold the fiefdom to Johann Tengelott von Valtelin. In 1684 Alexander Winkler von Winklersberg acquired Prakschicz for 5000 guilders. After the death of Johann Ignaz von Winklersberg, the fiefdom fell back in 1747 and was given to Wenzel Anton Kaunitz for 20,000 guilders , who attached it to his reign in Uherský Brod . The fortress was subsequently broken off and farm buildings were built in their place. Viticulture reached its peak at this time. Until the middle of the 19th century Prakschicz always remained submissive to Uherský Brod. Prakschicz and Biskupice were the only estates in the area that were always fiefdoms of the diocese for six and a half centuries until the end of the 19th century. The Counts of Kaunitz owned the goods until the 20th century .

After the abolition of patrimonial Prakšice / Prakschitz formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod . In 1859 the old wooden St. Wenceslas chapel in the cemetery was demolished and replaced by a larger brick one, which was consecrated to the Virgin Mary. Viticulture ceased in the second half of the 19th century due to a fungal disease. In 1898, on the occasion of a visit to Prakšice, the Archbishop of Olomouc Theodor Kohn assured the residents of his support in establishing a parish. The village had 887 inhabitants in 1900, of whom 883 were Catholics. In the years 1902-1903 the community had a rectory built. In 1906 Prakšice and Pašovice were separated from the Uherský Brod parish and František Dvořáček was appointed a priest in Prakšice. Pastor Dvořáček founded a savings bank and a Raiffeisen cooperative in Prakšice in 1907, which he also initially headed. An attempt to resume viticulture in 1936 was unsuccessful. Between April 26 and April 30, 1945 the village was at the front during the Bratislava-Brno operation . From the fighting between the Wehrmacht and the Red and Romanian Armies, a large number of roofs and the church tower were damaged by shell attacks. The damage was estimated at 7 million crowns, but this did not include the Count's Kaunitz estate. The new cemetery was laid out between 1947 and 1949. After the arrest of the Auxiliary Bishop Stanislav Zela from Olomouc, Pastor Jan Dubský fled Czechoslovakia in July 1950 together with other clergymen; as a result, a small group of residents were sentenced to long prison terms for helping to escape. In 1961 the municipality was assigned to the Okres Uherské Hradiště . Prakšice has a coat of arms and a banner.
