Foreign troops invaded the village several times between the 17th and 19th centuries. Between 1604 and 1605 it was the Hungarian rebels under Stephan Bocskai . During the Thirty Years War the Swedes occupied Wazan in 1643. In 1663 there was an invasion of the Tatars and in 1683 of the Kuruc . After the abolition of patrimonial rule, the political municipality Vážany was established in the Hungarian Hradisch district in 1848 . In 1866 Prussian troops came to Wazan and brought in cholera , from which eleven residents died.

Since 2001 the community has had a coat of arms and a banner. Vážany is one of the Moravian wine-growing places . Slovak customs and costumes are maintained in the village. Vážany is located on the Moravian Wine Trail and the Bisenz Wine Trail .
