Tučapy (German Tutschap , also Tuczap ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located 11 kilometers west of Uherské Hradiště and belongs to the Okres Uherské Hradiště .
geography
Tučapy is located in the southern foothills of the Martian Mountains in Moravian Slovakia . The village is located at the exit of a side valley on the Rovnina hill (357 m). To the east there are extensive vineyards on the slope to the March Plain.
Neighboring towns are Boršice in the north, Kostelany nad Moravou and Nedakonice in the east, Polešovice in the south-east, Vážany in the south, Újezdec in the south-west, Medlovice in the west and Stříbrnice in the north-west.
history
The first documentary mention of the place took place in 1131 in the deed of foundation for the new building of the church St. Wenceslas in Olomouc by Bishop Heinrich Zdik . Until the 16th century there was a fortress in Tučapy that included three farms.
After the abolition of patrimonial rule, Tučapy was established in 1848 in the Hungarian Hradisch district . Tučapy is one of the Moravian wine-growing towns . Slovak customs and costumes are maintained in the village. The village is also known for its annual masked ball and ceramic goods. The former festival now adorns the town's coat of arms alongside grapes.
