The wooden Kuban castle, which was destroyed by fire, was located on Lokov Mountain. From 1829 the existence of the Žítková settlement is documented. The inhabitants of the place lived in modest circumstances from agriculture. Until the middle of the 20th century, the village was spared modern achievements. In 1948 the place was electrified and in 1950 the first bus drove to Žítková.
