history

The settlement of the historical Kopanice region on the border between Moravia and Hungary took place in the 11th century. The first written mention of the village comes from the year 1261, when Ottokar II. Přemysl donated part of the then Vysoká Lhota area on the Hrozinkova brook up to the local border of Drietoma to the newly built Smilheim Monastery , which was founded in the same year by Smil von Zbraslav and Střílky was founded.

At that time, the Hrozenkov corridors had a considerable extent and comprised mountainous terrain, the one in the east from Rasová (today Nový Dvůr ) over the Chabová mountain to the Súčianka and the Brusná valley west of Drietoma , and in the west to Spytína and over the Velký Lopeník to the Zlatný potok near Březová and was divided between the lords of Trenčín , Beckov, Světla and Bánov .

Redoubts were built at the Hrosenkauer Pass during the Turkish Wars. On October 6th, 1663, the Turks broke through the fortifications and plundered and pillaged Moravia. In the area of Ungarisch Brod , Ungarisch Hradisch and Straßnitz , 49 villages were burned down and 5,000 residents were killed. More than 2000 young people were abducted by the intruders on their retreat to Hungary and the Ottoman Empire .

In the course of time the settlement was called Hozné Pusty , Pusty Hrozinkow and Rozinkov , respectively. After the border with Hungary was drawn, the village was divided in the 17th century, the eastern part including the hamlets of Svitava and Zárzivá became Hungarian. After Kašpar Gabriel Illesházy had acquired the rule of Vsetín , he founded the village of Nový Hrozenkov 16 kilometers east of the city of Vsetín and forcibly relocated the inhabitants of the parts of Hrozenkov that had fallen to Hungary in 1718. The old village has been named Starý Hrozenkov since the village was founded . In the 18th century a customs office was established in Starý Hrozenkov and in 1841 the road to Hungarian Brod was built .

After the replacement of patrimonial Hrozinkov / Alt Hrosenkau formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherský Brod, to which the settlements Vápenice , Vyškovec and Žítková belonged until 1919 . Between 1936 and 1939 the road from Hungarian Brod to Trenčín was expanded.
