history

Legend has it that the Swarow fortress was founded between the 10th and 11th centuries by Jakub Svárlivý, ancestor of the Moravian Vladiken family Svárovský of Svárov. The first written mention of the village Swarow took place in 1375. During the Bohemian-Hungarian power struggles for the crown of Bohemia, the fortress Swarow was burned down between 1468 and 1470 together with the villages Swarow and Zlámaný Újezd . After that, Swarow remained desolate for a long time and was finally repopulated in 1597. In 1647 the Swarow estate was attached to the Březolupy rule . The residents remained Protestant until the middle of the 18th century, only afterwards did Catholicism prevail. From 1800 the children of the village were educated in Bílovice, later in Zlámanec. In 1830 the construction of a new church began in Březolupy; the places Šarovy , Zlámanec and Swarow had previously sought to build it in a more central place between the villages. Until the middle of the 19th century Swarow always remained submissive to Březolupy.

After the abolition of patrimonial Svarov / Swarow formed from 1850 a municipality in the district administration Uherské Hradiště . The place name Svárov has been used since 1893 . In the same year its own school was also established.
