Lineth Chepkurui

Lineth Chepkurui (born February 23, 1988 in Bomet ) is a Kenyan long-distance runner .

Life

She started running in Bukacha Primary School. After graduating from Kirimwok Secondary School in 2004, she moved to Iten where she continued her training.

In 2005 she won the half marathon competition of the Nairobi Marathon . Because of this success, her starts at international races were arranged, of which she won the first, the half marathon of the Dallas White Rock Marathon , which took place a month later .

In 2006 he won the Philadelphia Half Marathon and the Delhi Half Marathon . In 2007 she was recruited into the Kenyan Air Force . After her basic training, she not only won the half marathon in Nairobi again, but also the Lagos half marathon. In 2008 she was sixth in the World's Best 10K and twelfth in the Cross Country World Championships . She then paused to heal an injury.

At the 2009 World Cross Country Championships in Amman, she finished fourth and won gold with the Kenyan team.

In 2010 she was fifth at the World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz and won team gold again. In the summer she set a course record at the Beach to Beacon 10K with 31:00 min.

Lineth Chepkurui is 1.57 m and weighs 43 kg. She is supervised by KIMbia Athletics and trained by Dieter Hogen and Godfrey Kiprotich.
