Sarn-y-bryn caled is a Neolithic reference in Powys ( Wales ). It is located in the Severn Valley not far from Welshpool and was excavated from 1990–1992 during road works. The system consists of circular trenches, a wooden post circle ( English Timber-circle ) of about 17.0 m in diameter and was dated to 3700-3660 BC cal . This includes interrupted circular ditches ( English penannular ditches ) and a cursus . The circular trenches date to the bell-cup period .

The site yielded numerous fragments of Peterborough Ware .

The Collfryn kiln is nearby .
