Sartaq Khan , also known as Sartaq the Christian ( Mongolian ᠰᠠᠷᠲᠠᠭ ; † 1257 ) became the Khan of the Blue or Golden Horde in 1255 after the death of his father Batu .

He was considered a friend of ( Nestorian ) Christianity and had already acted as his father's deputy for some time around 1248–1251 when he was in the Ili area - occupied with the question of succession to the throne . It was his troop leaders who in 1252 used Alexander Newski against his brother Andrei as Grand Duke. According to Armenian sources, Sartaq Khan died on his return from Karakoram in 1257 of a "stomach ailment" or was simply murdered. Behind it were probably his uncles Berke Khan and Berkejar, two Muslims , whereby Berke became his successor within a short time.
