Saskia Noort (born April 13, 1967 in Bergen (North Holland) ) is a Dutch journalist and crime novelist.

life and career

Noort studied journalism and theater studies in Utrecht. She works as a freelance journalist for the Dutch editions of Marie Claire , TopSanté , VT Wonen and Ouders van Nu and writes columns for the Dutch Playboy and LINDA . In 2003 her first crime novel Terug naar de kust appeared , which became a bestseller with over 200,000 copies sold and was filmed in 2009 with Linda de Mol . Her second novel De eetclub was also made into a film in 2010 (directed by Robert Jan Westdijk) and received the French Prix ​​SNCF du Polar in 2010 . Her two first novels were nominated for the Dutch crime prize Gouden Strop .

Her novels reach bestseller editions in the Netherlands; the total circulation of her books in 2011 was over 2 million. Her books have also been translated into English, French, German and many more languages.

Noort has a son and a daughter and lives in Amsterdam.
