The Children's Railroad ( Belarusian Мінская дзіцячая чыгунка імя К. С. Заслонава Minsk dsizjatschaja tschyhunka imja KS Saslonawa ; Russian Минская детская железная дорога имени К. С. Заслонова Minsk detskaja schelesnaja doroga imeni KS Saslonowa ) is a 3.79 km long narrow gauge - Pioneer railway with a gauge of 750 millimeters in the Chelyuskinites Park in the Belarusian capital Minsk .

history

The facility opened on July 9, 1955. In 1971 it was named after the railway worker Konstantin Sergejewitsch Saslonov - a national hero of the Soviet Union - who had commanded a partisan brigade. The track is operated exclusively by young people under the supervision of adults.

The railway serves three stations: the northern terminus Saslonowo, the intermediate station Pionerskaya and the southern terminus Sosnovyj Bor. There are reversing loops at both ends . Saslonowo is located between the Chelyuskintsev Park and Moskovskaya stations of the Minsk Metro , both of which are on the Moskovskaya Line.
