Sasson Gabai (2009)

Sasson Gabai (born November 24, 1947 in Baghdad ; Hebrew ששון גבאי) is an Israeli actor .

life and career

Gabai's parents were Iraqi Jews who immigrated to Israel when he was three years old. After leaving school, he turned to acting and has appeared regularly in Israeli television productions since the 1970s. Occasionally he also got smaller roles in Hollywood productions, including in 1988 Rambo III and 1991 in the literary film Not Without My Daughter . Gabai became internationally known in 2007 for his leading role in the Israeli cinema production The Band from Next Door , for which he received various national and international awards, including the European Film Prize . In 2011, he starred in The Pig of Gaza .
