Satte Katzen is a team of radio play makers from Dresden who primarily produce radio plays , features , reports , comicals, parodies and sound collages. Other speakers, musicians, authors and critics join various projects. The central theme is the playful use of the elements of language.
history
The discussion of the radio play began on December 24, 2000 with the help of a TESLA tape recorder . The result was a collage of literary set pieces, short improvisations on various instruments as well as mixed LPs and CDs by various artists. Based on Douglas Adams The Hitchhiker's Guide to Space, the group initially called itself “ Babelfish ”. Since the name was already protected by copyright, it was decided to rename it "Satte Katzen".
In the meantime more than 40 longer and shorter pieces have been created. After several appearances on independent radio stations, some pieces were also broadcast on Deutschlandradio Kultur and Deutschlandfunk .
