Sausage gravy or Country gravy is a traditional sauce of Southern cuisine of the United States , where it is mainly for American breakfast served. To prepare minced spiced is pork spicy seared , set aside and the remaining fat in the pan to prepare a roux used. Then, similar to the preparation of a bechamel sauce with milk quenched the sauce, boiled, with stirring, added the seared meat again and the sauce with salt, pepper and other spices seasoned .

Sausage gravy is part of Biscuits and Gravy and Eggs Beauregard and can also be served with other hot breakfast dishes.
