Michael Savage

Michael Alan Weiner , known by his stage name Michael Savage , (born March 31, 1942 ), is a conservative American talk radio host. He is also an author and conservative political commentator.

Since 1994 he has hosted the weekly US-wide program The Savage Nation. The show was distributed throughout the US by the Talk Radio Network until 2012 and now by the Cumulus Media Networks .

Life

Savage holds a Masters Degree in Medical Botany and Anthropology from the University of Hawaii and a Ph.D. the University of California, Berkeley in nutritional ethnomedicine (nutritional ethnomedicine ). He is the author of 25 books. Born Michael Weiner, he wrote books on natural medicine and as Michael Savage published four books on political topics that were on the New York Times bestseller list .

In 2009, the UK placed Savage on its first Extremism Disliked List. His views on immigration, Islam, rape and autism sparked a public debate in the United States.

Awards

In 2007 he received the Freedom of Speech Award from US journal Talkers Magazine for his media presence .
