The Savoryellomycetidae are a subclass of the sac fungi .
Diagnosis and position
Three orders of the Savoryellomycetidae, namely Conioscyphales, Pleurotheciales and Savoryellales, form a common phylogenetic branch with a calculated original age of 268 million years. Therefore, the order of the Savoryellales described in 2011 was raised to the rank of subordination by Hongsanan and co-workers in 2017. In addition, the order of Fuscosporellales described in 2016 was placed under the same subordination. Like all Sordariomycetes, they form perithecia as fruiting bodies .
Way of life
The Savoryellomycetidae live in different habitats . Representatives of the Savoryellaceae live saprobically on submerged wood in fresh water, sea or brackish water . Species of the Conioscyphaceae live in freshwater or terrestrial habitats. The species of the order of the Fuscosporellales described in 2016 live on rotting wood in fresh water.
