Savoy Croft

Savoy Croft is a villa in the Scottish town of Ayr in the Council Area South Ayrshire . In 1980 the building was included in the Scottish List of Monuments in the highest category A. The Art Nouveau villa was built in 1893. The client was the architect James A. Morris , who planned and lived in it himself. In 1914 the building was expanded. It remained in the family until 1991.

The two-story building is located west of the center not far from the Firth of Clyde shore. It is made of red sandstone that is partially plastered with Harl . A part of the building with a volute gable protrudes from the east-facing front . The lower entrance area located there is designed with a stylized segment arch with a keystone . The facades are constructed asymmetrically, in some cases with simple twin to quadruple windows with central posts and simple all-round cornice . Some windows are made with corbels and roofing . A bay window protrudes on the northwest side . The gable roof is covered with slate. Flat roof dormers with individual windows and skylights are installed.
