Zavadovsky Canyon

The Sawadowski Canyon is a deep-sea trench in the Davissee off the Leopold and Astrid coast of the East Antarctic Princess Elisabeth Land .
It is named after Iwan Iwanowitsch Sawadowski (1780-1837), deputy commander on board the Vostok in the first Russian Antarctic expedition (1819-1821) under the direction of Fabian Gottlieb von Bellingshausen .
