Sawimbulu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sawimbulu is a character in a children's book by the well-known German actor and author Hardy Krüger .

Sawimbulu - also the title of the book - is a star child (according to its own definition). One day he comes to the “farm of the big cattle”, which is run in East Africa by the German-born Mr. Kastner. He lives there with his wife and children Jessy and Danny.

Sawimbulu appears to the children one night and takes them seven times on a night outing, where he tells them African fairy tales and brings them closer to the beauty of this continent.

Sawimbulu is small, round like a football, and black. When, however, after the seventh outing, Danny tries to capture him because he wants Sawimbulu to stay with them forever, the little black boy becomes angry and red with rage. He then leaves the “farm of the big cattle” and does not return there.
