The Sawyer nunatak is a small, yet distinctive nunatak in East Antarctica, Victoria Land . In the Prince Albert Mountains it rises 3 miles southeast of Mount Stephen .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1956 and 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Joseph O. Sawyer, satellite geodesist at McMurdo Station in the Antarctic winter of 1966.
