Schoeni coat of arms (around 1520)

The Schöni family was a patrician family in Bern , which has been documented since the early 15th century and which became extinct in the male line in 1751.

The various bearers of the family name Schöni in the 15th and 16th centuries cannot be brought into a genealogical context. The sex provided a Venner three times , three of them as butchers . The Schöni also shared their rooms at Pfistern . The Schöni belong to the few notable families in Bern who owe their social advancement to education and not to the acquisition of real estate. A total of five forms of coat of arms are known, but they all have a golden sun in common.
