In the 1950s, the association rowed hiking trips and took part in regattas in the surrounding area. I.a. the challenge prize of the Lübecker Nachrichten (1951 to 1954) and various races in school regattas were won. In the 1960s, club life increasingly shifted to racing rowing. All three SRV boats win the state championship and qualify for the German school championships. In the national comparison competitions in Hamburg, two boats become student champions.

In 1971 the boathouse was expanded and in this context it was equipped with a power connection. In addition, new sanitary facilities with a well and septic tank were built.

In 1979 the Association of Friends took over the legal ownership of the student rowing association. In 1984, the student rowing club was renamed to its current name, the student rowing club in the Association of Friends of the Leibniz Gymnasium Bad Schwartau .

Location of the SRR

Since 1951, which is the boathouse of SRRLG the dead arm of the Trave. Before that, the SRR was housed with the Lübeck Rowing Society from 1885 . The club is relatively quiet there because the shipping traffic in downtown Lübeck uses the Trave piercing. So mainly sailors and yacht owners of the neighboring clubs drive on the oxbow lake. The boathouse of the Mühlenberg school rowing club is right next to the SRR and the practice area of the Lübeck Federal Police Academy is diagonally opposite .

You can row across the Trave in a north-east direction to Gothmund , Schlutup and Travemünde. In bad weather or for beginners training, the Schwartau to the north is ideal. To the south-west, the Trave can be rowed into Lübeck city center and beyond to Reinfeld. The Wakenitz is also ideal for hiking trips to Lake Ratzeburg or Lake Schaalsee .
