Landshut Chess Club

The Landshut Chess Club is a chess club founded in Landshut in 1902 .

In the 2015/16 season he will take part in the Lower Bavarian team championships with two teams.

In the period 1995–1997 the correspondence chess team of the SK Landshut played in the then newly founded 1st Correspondence Chess Bundesliga with the line-up:

  • 1st board: Wolfgang Galow (3.5 out of 8)
  • 2nd board: Rudi Heigl (3.0 out of 8)
  • 3rd board: Michael Nurbekoglu (2.0 out of 8)
  • 4th board: Werner Müller / Ignaz Mészaros (from September 1996) (3.5 out of 8)

The team finished 9th out of 9 teams and was relegated to the 2nd correspondence chess Bundesliga. SK Landshut had qualified for this 1st Bundesliga in the qualifying tournament for the Correspondence Chess League, Main Round A in the 1993/95 season with the line-up Nurbekoglu, Galow, Müller, Heigl.
