Correspondence chess Bundesliga

The correspondence chess Bundesliga is the highest German division in a correspondence chess competition for club teams .

In 1995, a class system for club teams with promotion and relegation regulations was introduced for the first time:

  • 1. Bundesliga - single track, 9 teams
  • 2. Bundesliga - 3 groups with 9 teams each
  • 1st national class - 9 groups with 7 teams each
  • 2nd national class - 18 groups with 6 or 7 teams each

A team consists of four players, it must belong to a club of the German Chess Federation . A club can register several teams.

The first winner of the 1st Bundesliga and thus the 1st German correspondence chess team champion was SV Fechenheim (1997).
