The Sainte Marie shaft is one of the Ronchamp coal mines . Between 1866 and 1958 it was used very irregularly for coal mining. The reinforced concrete headframe dates from 1924, and since March 29, 2001, this last remaining architectural witness to the coal mining in Ronchamp has been a monument historique .
