description
It was a four-story building, the lower two floors of which were equipped with large shop windows. These were designed in Art Nouveau forms made of polished mahogany wood. Decorative pin mosaic surfaces were attached to the facade on the upper floors. The main floors of the house were richly furnished with fine wood.

Successor building
In 2001, for the 100th birthday of the Peek & Cloppenburg company, a new building by the New York architect Richard Meier with a sales area of around 14,200 square meters was opened on this property . He came up with the idea of a large curved shop window that extends from the sidewalk to the top floor. A large, white frame is in front of the facade and underlines this idea. "We tried to create a building that conveys a very strong image for the company and wanted to achieve this through light, space and transparency," explains Richard Meier. Like all buildings by Richard Meier, this house also has a white facade.
