Schahrud (Canal)

The Schahrud is an ancient stone canal in Bukhara, Uzbekistan . The canal is used to supply the historic city with water and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage . The Hovuz , stone ponds or basins such as the Labi Hovuz or the Hovuz of the Hodscha Gaukuschan , are irrigated and drained via it . The Schahrud flows openly over long stretches south of the Schahristan through the Rabat Bukhara in an east-west direction past the Labi Hovuz, passes under the Toqi Sarrofon merchant dome and passes the Hodscha Gaukuschan.
