The Scharnhorst Monument Wennigsen is an architectural monument in the municipality of Wennigsen . The plant, built in 1913, is located between the core town of Wennigsen and the Waldkater on Hülsebrinkstrasse, which in this section is also referred to as Forstmeister-Bank-Allee .

The building is a bastion-like Völkerschlachtdenkmal. It bears the inscription In memory of 1813–1913 . It was dedicated to Gerhard von Scharnhorst . Founder of the monument of traffic and Beautification Association Wennigsen in 1896. Before construction was the times were at the site composting Kuhlen . Friedrich Wüllner describes the inauguration of the monument in his local history. In 1913, all of the town's schoolchildren would have had to take part and bonfires would have burned on the hills around the town. Like numerous other Scharnhorst monuments in Germany, it was erected for the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Nations near Leipzig . At that time, a peace oak was planted in neighboring Evestorf .

In 2008 the monument made of local sandstone was restored with voluntary help by the Wennigsen Transport and Improvement Association.
