Schartner Bombe is an Austrian lemonade brand.

history

Before the First World War , a spring was found in the village of Leppersdorf in the municipality of Scharten , from which water at around 21 degrees Celsius flowed, which was later drawn into a well and used for a bathhouse. Around 1927 Otto Burger began producing drinks with spring water from Scharten in the courtyard wing of his parents' house in Linz, making him the first manufacturer of the Schartner bomb .

After the cessation of operations during the Second World War , further entries can only be found in the chronicle in the 1950s. The Bartenstein family from Wels came into possession of the source and took over the production and Austria-wide distribution of the Schartner bomb . In 1956, the company Fein from Mühlgrub near Bad Hall sold it and bought the Schartner bomb in 1961 and also bottled it. The company was subsequently sold to Steirerbrau AG, which in turn was merged into Brau Union Österreich. Since this company owned the license for an American lemonade brand at the time, the “Schartner Bombe” brand was finally sold in 1995 to the Starzinger group of companies from Frankenmarkt, which has since marketed the various types of the bomb exclusively nationally.

brand

The brand became known for its eponymous, characteristic green glass bottle, which is 16.5 centimeters high, 6.5 centimeters in diameter and has a capacity of 0.25 liters. The drink was later also filled into PET bottles and cans (0.35 l each). Schartner Bombe is produced in the varieties lemon, orange, raspberry, herbs, passion fruit, peach, pineapple, Spezi, Cola , ginkgo orange, as well as a sugar-free version in the varieties orange, grapefruit and vitamin A + C + E. The Schartner Bombe trademark was initially raised on the green glass bottle, later shown on the yellow-dominated paper label with the cut through the respective fruit or as an imprint on aluminum sheet. The cycling club (Union) Eferding , founded in 1960, was sponsored by Schartner Bombe from 1962 to 1980 and later again . His racing cyclists achieved significant success.
