The Schauburg film theater is a traditional cinema in Leipzig , at Antonienstraße 21, at the "Adler", the most important main road crossing in the Leipzig district of Kleinzschocher .

History and use

The architect Hermann Mäding designed the now listed building in the Art Deco style for Rudolf Film Verlag, it was inaugurated in 1928. The cinema was completely rebuilt from 2006 to 2008 and since then has a larger hall with 221 and two smaller projection halls with 112 and 102 seats, which are equipped with modern cinema technology ( DTS and Dolby Digital ).

A bistro welcomes visitors in the entrance area.

With a total of 435 seats, the cinema is one of Leipzig's smaller movie theaters. It is operated as an art house cinema with a mixture of current program films and high-quality commercial films. Films will also be shown in the original language and on selected topics.
