Disc type

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The disc type is a term used in sailing . It is a stable wooden frame that is used to hold one or two rounded wooden discs that are used as pulleys for various ropes for the moving goods.

Disk gatts are in the side wall, in the beet posts and in the servants . The disk grids in the side walls are actually a wooden frame that is anchored in the side wall. They each contain a disc over which the pods or the jibs run. Today, the disc type with two discs is no longer used. In it the jib sheet ran over the wider roll and the sheet of the blind over the narrower one . Different ropes are passed through the disc frames in the beting posts (different with one or two discs). The servants are bolted to the ship's side on the inside and often reach into the deck below. They hold the Mars fall and top musicians .
