In heraldry, the bell is a heraldic figure .

A small spherical bell is shown. It is seldom found as the primary coat of arms figure. In connection with other heraldic figures, the bell is often in the coat of arms. Here the heraldic animals cow, bull or sheep could be named, which are hung on the ribbon around the neck. It is placed on the falcon's head with a cap or attached to a stand. The bell, the bell, is on the fool's cap, a sign of foolishness, but the bell can also be found on people's clothes.

Bells are also used in the coat of arms as a helmet ornament . To distinguish between families, this sound body can be found in the Schildhaupt , Obereck or in a crossing .

The coloring can be according to the heraldic possibility. However, gold or silver is preferred without any particular significance. The band is predominantly the same color as the bell. A number greater than three in the coat of arms is rare, as is the choice of the coat of arms figure as meaningful for family names Schelle (n) or Schellenberger and similar name combinations.

The bell should always be mentioned in the description as a secondary figure or heraldic animal ornament .
