The court |
Shenut (partly published under Senut ) represented a deity of the deceased in Egyptian mythology . He belonged to the group of gods who accompanied the divine body of Osiris and protected it against enemies. In addition, he bore the title " who resurrects people ".
Schenut has been well documented since the Middle Kingdom . As the court of the triad of gods Hathor , Ihi and Hor-Behedeti , he was accordingly at home in his main cult places Edfu and Dendera .
In the Greco-Roman times , Schenut was especially venerated as the “protector of Osiris” together with the “great powers of Edfu and Dendera and the princes of heaven and earth” as the court of Horus of Edfu.
