The Lexicon of Egyptian Gods and Designations of Gods (also LGG ) is the largest reference work in Egyptology . Under the direction of Christian Leitz and with the assistance of Peter Dils , Frank Förster, Dagmar Budde , Lothar Goldbrunner , Daniela Mendel , Daniel von Recklinghausen and Bettina Ventker , the basic information was set up from 1995 to 2003 at the University of Cologne . Further expansion is planned. The texts of the lexicon of Egyptian gods and names of gods provide information that is otherwise difficult to access on the one hand, and all the relevant writings of the deities on the other, but only represent the raw material and do not replace additional research.
