Scherliau

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Scherliau is a hamlet southeast behind Oberscherli , a village in the municipality of Köniz in the canton of Bern in Switzerland .

The Scherliau is traversed by the Scherlibach. Immediately southeast of the hamlet is the Sternenberg castle hill. No sources have survived on the count house named after him or on its fate. This noble house may have lived on the castle hill for a time in the 12th and 13th centuries. The image of the hamlet has changed over the last few centuries as the industry has declined sharply. From this change only a carpentry, a sawmill and a customer mason are left. Otherwise the Scherliau consists of a few residential buildings.
