Shift shoe

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shift shoe was a German field and area measure and the smaller measure of the square rod in Hessen-Nassau . In general, the Prussian dimensions in the Prussian province were valid from January 1, 1872, and some old dimensions survived.

The shift shoe was divided into 10 shift inches. The measure was derived from the square rod, which was 10 layer shoes tall.

The designation as a square shoe or, mutatis mutandis, as a square inch is incorrect.

Basis was

  • 1 Hanau square rod = 10 layer shoes = 100 layer inches = 12.741319 square meters
