Rail vehicle technology

The rail vehicle technology is a special area of mechanical engineering or transport engineering that deals with the design, manufacture and repair of rail-borne vehicles and rail vehicles is concerned. Areas of work include: electric railways, rail vehicle electronics and control, driving dynamics and track technology.

In 2010, the FH Aachen introduced a "Rail Vehicle Technology" course . At the University of Stuttgart , rail vehicle technology can be taken as a specialization in several master’s courses in engineering .
