Ship's crown
The naval crown ( naval crown ) is a special feature on the English coat of arms.
So-called ship's beaks (bow) and sails are attached to the headband. The stern of a sailing ship is reproduced in the middle of the crown .
A whole bow tip is visible between two billowing sails on the mast and only narrow ship's beaks to the right and left. The entire crown has four points alternating between four sails.
In English heraldry , this crown takes on the function of the wall crown widespread in Germany in city heraldry . An example is the crown colony of Hong Kong in British times.
The Corona navalis ship's crown was also a decoration of the Roman military.
